JIMSON WEED

Datura stramonium

Germination Instructions:

1.) Sprinkle seeds and cover lightly with a damp loose, well drained soil mix
2.) Place in a warm, bright location away from direct sunlight
3.) Keep soil damp at all times (do not overwater or let dry out)
4.) Germination usually takes 1-2 weeks

5.) GA-3 (Giberrellic Acid-3) at 500ppm/4hr soak assists in rates but is not required

Detailed Plant Description:

D. stramonium is an annual erect bush that grows up to heights of 7ft. It's trumpet-shaped 2.5" - 3.5" long flowers have an interesting and potent nutty fragrance. They are white and often have a slight tint of violet. The irregular toothed leaves are soft. The seedpods on the jimson weed are about the size of a walnut and often have spines. When the seedpod has ripened it splits into four chambers that contain dozens of seeds.

Plant Care:

This Datura is very easy to grow once seeds have germinated. Keep soil damp... other then that not only does it grow like a weed, it is one!
