Traditional Use:
This shrub also known as chacruna is part of the coffee family and has been used for hundreds of years by Shaman. The Machiguenga people of Peru use juice from the leaves as eye drops to treat migraine headaches(of course this should not be applied to the eyes without the guidance of a qualified medicine man). It makes a wonderful natural art & craft product and can be applied as a natural green dye.
