These 100% organic Banisteriopsis caapi vine pieces are the "cielo" strain, also known as "yellow". The vine has been cut in small segments that are up to 4" thick! They are aged to perfection before being harvested and have been cared for with deep respect during preparation to ensure they remain extremely high grade specimens.
Traditional & Modern Use:
The B. caapi plant has been recognized for its shamanic potential for hundreds of years as a respected admixture to the religious Ayahuasca brew. The other primary ingredient is Psychotria viridis which is understood to provide the “light” while B. caapi provides the “force”. Many believe that the vines are the only part of the plant used for divinatory purposes, but in fact several Indian tribes commonly used B. caapi leaves either on their own or as an additive to brews or smoking blends. The Pastaza Runa Indians often use the leaves in replacement of the vine when the vine material is not as plentiful and the Napo Runa Indians consistently add leaves to the brew to enhance the enlightenment that the B. caapi plant has to offer. Leaves were often smoked for subtle but familiar effects.
