Our 100% organic B. caapi leaves are a mix of three potent strains of the plant; black, white and cielo (aka yellow). These whole leaves are of the most sought after of the B. caapi strains. They are hand-picked and dried with great care to maximize peak potency. There is much debate regarding the potency B. caapi leaves but any negative words regarding alkaloid content are due to individuals with low grade B. caapi.
Traditional & Modern Use:
The B. caapi plant has been recognized for its shamanic potential for hundreds of years as a respected admixture to the religious Ayahuasca brew. The other primary ingredient is Psychotria viridis which is understood to provide the “light” while B. caapi provides “force”. Many believe that the vines are the only part of the plant used for divinatory purposes, but in fact several Indian tribes commonly use leaves either on their own or as an additive to brews or smoking blends. The Pastaza Runa Indians often use the leaves in replacement of the vine when the vine material is not as plentiful and the Napo Runa Indians consistently add leaves to the brew to enhance the enlightenment that the B. caapi plant has to offer. B. caapi leaves were often smoked for more subtle but familiar feelings.
